Victoire serves as a Local Peace Advisor within the Peacebuilding Department of Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, contributing to the implementation of the organization's peacebuilding initiatives under the GIZ-supported project.
She works closely with communities, local stakeholders, and project teams to promote peaceful coexistence, dialogue, social cohesion, conflict prevention, and community resilience. Her role involves bringing local perspectives into peacebuilding interventions and supporting approaches that respond to the realities and needs of the communities Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle serves.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Local Peacebuilding: Supports the implementation of community-based peacebuilding activities designed to strengthen peaceful coexistence and social cohesion.
- Conflict Prevention: Contributes to identifying potential sources of tension and supporting locally appropriate approaches to conflict prevention and management.
- Community Dialogue: Facilitates and supports dialogue among community members and relevant stakeholders to encourage mutual understanding and peaceful relationships.
- Local Stakeholder Engagement: Works with local authorities, community leaders, youth, women, civil society actors, and other stakeholders involved in peacebuilding.
- GIZ Project Implementation: Supports the implementation of activities under GIZ-supported peacebuilding project in accordance with project objectives and plans.
- Community Mobilization: Engages communities and encourages meaningful participation in peacebuilding initiatives.
- Early Identification of Conflict Risks: Helps identify emerging community-level concerns and tensions that may require dialogue, mediation, or other peacebuilding responses.
- Peacebuilding Monitoring: Follows up on peacebuilding activities and contributes to documenting progress, challenges, outcomes, and lessons learned.
- Reporting & Documentation: Supports the preparation of activity reports, community feedback, success stories, and other project documentation.
- Coordination: Works closely with Peacebuilding team and other project stakeholders to ensure coordinated implementation of activities.
- Community Feedback: Brings community perspectives, concerns, and recommendations into project planning and implementation.
- Social Cohesion: Promotes trust, cooperation, inclusion, tolerance, and constructive relationships within communities.
